Privacy Policy
ScoreTune works with sheet music on your iPad. You do not need an account.
1. What ScoreTune does with your scores
ScoreTune reads the scores you choose and makes optimized copies on your iPad. It does not send scores to a ScoreTune server.
If you add a score from Files or another app, ScoreTune keeps a local copy. If you use Auto-detect with forScore's folder, ScoreTune reads the scores there and copies an original into its own storage when needed for processing.
ScoreTune does not change a score in forScore just by checking or optimizing it. You decide when to send an optimized score back. Sending several at once can write directly to the folder you selected.
2. What stays on your iPad
ScoreTune stores the scores it is working on, optimized copies, saved originals under Backups, and information needed to show your lists. It also keeps thumbnails, analysis results, a record of which library files were checked, and the time of its latest quiet check.
Your chosen forScore folder is remembered through a local access bookmark. A free library preview also saves a small snapshot on your iPad, including sampled score names, counts and the time checked.
ScoreTune does not use these records for advertising or tracking. If a folder you choose is in iCloud Drive or another cloud-based file service, that service may sync files according to your settings. ScoreTune does not operate that service.
3. What we collect and what leaves your iPad
ScoreTune has no advertising, analytics, tracking, or third-party analytics software. We do not automatically receive your scores, filenames, library information, or usage history.
You can choose to send or export scores through the iPad's sharing options. You can also email us for support. If you do, we receive your email address, message and any attachments you choose to send. A diagnostic report is shown to you in full before you choose to copy or share it, and ScoreTune never sends one by itself. It can include device and app details, purchase and free-use status, storage and free disk space, score counts and measurements, the reasons scores could not be opened, and recent import and sending activity with dates. It refers to your scores by number: ScoreTune leaves score filenames and file locations out of the report, and it never includes the contents of your scores. We use reports you choose to send only to investigate or respond to your support request.
Apple handles in-app purchases. Opening an external license or privacy link can also use your internet connection. ScoreTune does not upload your scores for processing.
4. Backups and deleting
ScoreTune keeps a saved original so you can return to it after optimization. It does not automatically delete saved Backups to free space.
You can choose Free up under Backups. Before removing a selected original, ScoreTune checks again that forScore holds an identical copy of the optimized score. Removing the original means you may not be able to optimize that score again without importing it.
Delete removes a score's files from ScoreTune. A sent scan may still have an original saved under Backups. Deleting scores in ScoreTune does not delete files already in forScore or reset the separate free-use and preview records described below.
5. Purchases
Apple handles payment and purchase verification. ScoreTune asks Apple's StoreKit system whether unlimited use is owned and obtains the price shown on the purchase screen from Apple. ScoreTune does not receive your payment-card details.
6. Free uses and the Keychain
Each tool has a limited number of free uses. ScoreTune stores a number for the free uses spent on each tool in this iPad's Keychain. It also stores a record that the one-time free library preview was completed. These records normally remain if you delete and reinstall ScoreTune.
The saved preview results, a local copy of the preview-used flag, and a fallback copy of spent free-use counts are kept in the app's preferences. The fallback counts help preserve your allowance if the Keychain is temporarily unavailable. These records are not sent to us or synchronized to iCloud by ScoreTune.
Older versions used iCloud key-value storage for free-use information. ScoreTune contains a one-time cleanup that removes those old values; current free-use counts are not stored there.
7. Scanning
If you choose Scan paper music, Apple's document scanner uses the iPad camera. You can review the pages before saving them as a score. ScoreTune creates the score on your iPad and keeps it there unless you choose to send or share it.
Any text recognition used to suggest a scan title runs on the device.
8. Children
ScoreTune is made for musicians and is not specifically directed at children. It does not automatically collect personal information from children or adults.
9. Changes to this policy
When this policy changes, we will update the date above and include the revised policy in the app.
